Oh hello again friends, and new studio floors

Hello friends!
It has been a while (a very long while) since I have been here in this blog space, life has been busy!
It is nice to be back, and to show you all my new studio floors.
Finally, white floors!
We had to lift up old grey carpet (easy),
rip up lino (easy-ish),
scrape carpet glue off every inch of the floorboards (back breakingly difficult),
then sand (the man in the house did this part),
and paint.
Painting was the fun part, as you can imagine!
And here it is,
a light, bright, white studio space.
I am slowly putting it back together,
being mindful that I do not want clutter.

I am in heaven!
And because I am so happy with it,
and as a welcome back to my blog 'hello!',
I have marked all photos and canvas gallery wraps 20% off
in my Etsy store.
I have loads of new work,
I will post some of it here in the coming weeks,
in the meantime have a browse if you feel inclined,
and wow, I didn't realise how much I missed writing a blog post!

My studio space

We've had a shift around in the house,
and this is my new workroom.
It is the smallest, yet lightest,
room in the house.
I love being in here.
My own little haven.

Facebook Sale!

Friends, I have had a huge studio clean out.
And have decided that all of this excess stock,
new prints and retired prints,
need new loving homes.
Rather than sit here in my studio,
I would love if they were on walls
and pinboards and fridges
around the world.

So, I am having a huge facebook sale.
Photo prices range from $4 -$9 - $14 -  $20
Bargain hey!
It is simple, all you need to do
is have a look through the album,
if you see something you like,
comment SOLD
and email me with your paypal and shipping address.
I have noted all sizes on each item,
some are not standard sizes
as I had them printed for projects,
but never used them.

Worried about shipping?
I have tried to keep shipping costs low.
If you order more than one photo,
you only pay one shipping fee,
the other prints (same size and smaller)
ship for free.

There is also an iPhone 4s case,

and a retro mint greeen savoy camera
that need new homes.

Here is a link to the album, it is full of goodies!
Have fun!

A change

After a year with this laptop skin,
I decided I was over the green,
it was starting my make me feel dreary,
and I wanted something fresh to suit my 'it's soon to be spring and summer' mood,
and inspire me to work.

And so I ordered a new cover from Society6, and within a week it was here.
I love it.
Now I feel like working, and even when the sky is grey outside my window,
I can see blue sky and pink blossoms.

Goodbye grey...hello wood!

Say hello to the new love of my life....wooden floorboards.
When we moved in to our new home 3 months ago, we could not wait to rip up the grey carpet and see what was underneath.  We suspected there would be beautiful wooden floorboards, as most 1920's houses have them, but we made ourselves wait until we had insulation sorted (because as much as I'd like wooden floors, I like to be warm more!).  Just before Christmas we ripped up a corner piece of carpet in one of the bedroom carpets, and had our hopes confirmed - divine wood lived underneath the grey!  Still we made ourselves wait.....and then.....just after Christmas, on a cold and windy holiday day that had us all pottering around inside, I had a mini tantrum.  I didn't enjoy being in my own studio/office space, there was just too much grey, and it was becoming a dumping room for unpacked boxes and general stuff.  And for everyone who works on a kitchen table will agree I am sure, that to have ones very own room after years of being on the kitchen table, is a dream come true.  So not to enjoy being in there?  Well, maybe the tantrum wasn't so mini.  :)

Not usually one to give in to tantrums (he he he) half an hour later Shannon had pulled it all up, having decided we'd just do this one room for now.

Oh my, can you imagine how much I love being in there now?  I have dreamt of white painted wooden floors since I can't remember when, but for now, I am loving the fact that there is no more grey.

I am still playing with the set up, rearranging things, so there will be more photos to come when I stop moving everything around!
