Reworked - Beauty is Everywhere

I reworked this Poppy photo,

because if you look,

you will see Beauty everywhere.

We all have our own song to sing

I believe, 

we all have our own song to sing.

and she realised....

I have been craving adventure lately,

feeling really restless.

I blame it on the nostalgia that always seems to accompany

the subtle changes from summer to autumn.

And then, this week, our little boy turned 4.

On his birthday morning, sitting on our bed holding a new box of lego,

he looked around at us {his father, mother and sister}, 

and said with the hugest grin -

'I am so happy.'

And, of course, my heart melted.  

It made me realise, that this is what happiness is.

All that is right here in front of me.

It's not in the adventures, it's in the people I am lucky enough to love.

The Blues

There is something so magical about the beach.

It really does soothe my soul.

I first created a 'you soothe my soul' photo years ago,

So it felt good to add the words to a new photo,

(thanks iPhone and instagram!)

as at the moment I am loving the blues.

Pale blues of hot summer hazy evenings,

and the bright blues of the morning and early afternoon sky.

Blues. 

 I'm all about blues right now.

if I hadn't been there...

It's so true isn't it.

The paths we have chosen,

the paths that chose us,

have led us to here.

I love daydreaming about where else

this path will lead me.

birds, trees, snow and daydreams....

In this part of the countryside, 

everywhere I go,

I see birds.  

I see fields.  

I see wide open sky.

I see rows and rows of gorgeous trees.

And all of this seeing, 

of course,

leads me to daydreaming........

she heard it calling and felt her heart soar

a little more summer daydreaming...

Winter is the season I seek change.  

I get restless.

So instead of waiting for it, 

I am going to create it.

There has been a lot of talk in this house about believing in your dreams.

Annabel says if you believe you can do it, you can...

you just have to picture it in your head 

and it will happen.

This photo, the latest addition to The Butterfly Series,

is for her.

I thought, honestly thought, that The Butterfly series was complete.  

But something was bothering me, I wanted white backgrounds to suit painted walls - 

the blues and greens of the backgrounds didn't quite suit 

some of the blue tones we have used in the house, 

particularly my daughters room.  

So on the to do list (you know the one...the never-ending to do list...) 

was to create some white based butterfly photos.  

Can you imagine how pleased I was when I received an email today from a customer 

asking if I had any of the series with white backgrounds?  

Finally, the push to bump it to the top of the list.  

And that is what I did this afternoon.

Oh won't you fly....

oh won't you fly, 

fly away with me, 

to where we can feel the gentle ocean breeze...

and the sun on our skin...

to where we feel alive...

lose yourself in a daydream

At my last market, a customer asked why I didn't have the photo available from my business card, 

which features my 'together we will touch the sky' photo and reads 'lose yourself in a daydream'.  

I don't know, why don't I?  

I have been using that phrase since the very early days of Etsy, way back in 2008, 

when I knew my work was based on the whimsical notion of daydreams.  

Because I am a daydreamer at heart.

I have used it on business cards, and other promotional web and print material, but never on a photo available to purchase as a print or photo block.  

As soon as my lovely customer asked me, it seemed the most obvious thing I could have done.  

So here you have it, a re-worked hot air balloon photo, one of my favourite and yours, 

with my most favourite and hopeful of thoughts.....

that my work might just inspire you to ~

'lose yourself in a daydream'...

a place to daydream....

A daydreaming kind of a weekend

Just when I think I have created the last balloon photo, I feel inspired again.  

This one, is for my little boy, who loves the hot air balloons, 

and when they fly over our house on still, crisp mornings, 

tries so hard to reach them.
