...can you remember a time when the most magical thing was finding a ladybird?

i had a dream last night...
I had a dream last night
I dreamt that I was swimming
And the stars up above
Directionless and drifting
Somewhere in the dark
Were the sirens and the thunder
Time Love...
It's only a change of time...
I was thirsty so I drank
And though it was salt water
There was something 'bout the way
It tasted so familiar...
And though it was salt water
There was something 'bout the way
It tasted so familiar...

The Letter Writer
It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Herman.
I don't know Herman's story, but he looks like he was a traveller, like he has seen the world, and if he could, he'd tell a great story.
He looks as if he were a letter writer.
I like to imagine that Herman wrote love letters to a very lucky lady.

The Storyteller
Meet Olive.
Olive is my Granny's typewriter - a vintage Italian Olivetti Lettera.
My Granny is 92. She still uses her typewriter to write her letters.
Olive is more than 50 years old.
Actually, you've already met Olive - in my last post.
I have borrowed Olive for my next series - The Storyteller....
based around Polaroid, vintage typewriters and daydreams.
I have another typewriter to introduce to you soon....

My daydreams....
Something has happened since we left Melbourne and are settling into our kiwi life. My daydreams, which I thought were big and huge and in the distant future, have gotten even bigger.....oh my you cannot imagine what I am dreaming of.......it fills me with wonderment, excitement, butterflies...and a little bit of fear...but I know the only thing that will keep these daydreams as just that - dreams, will be my own self doubt...so I am pushing the doubt away, and dreaming....dreaming......dreaming.....oh my am I daydreaming.....

Home Beautiful
Just before we moved from Melbourne, I had an email from Home Beautiful magazine, about including my photos 'The Vintage Cameras' in a photo shoot for an upcoming magazine. I was, as you can imagine, bursting with excitement. And then nearly bursting with impatience, to see if they would make the final edition.
Over the weekend, the wonderful Melinda from Here we go Loopy Lou sent me a note and a photo of the page to end the suspense - thank you Melinda! I was hoping for a tiny square somewhere on a shopping page, not for them to be up on the wall like this on a full page photo! WOW. I am over the moon. OVER. THE. MOON.
So my Vintage Cameras get 15 minutes of fame - in the October 2010 issue of Home Beautiful, out now in Australia, and out at the end of September in New Zealand.
And Sarah - thank you, for posting me a copy of the mag. I do love how wonderful friends and the online community all looks out for one another. xx

By the Light of the Moon...
This is the next mini series of photos in the 'Winter and the Birds' series - from top 'The Arrival', 'Three's a Crowd', and 'The Gathering'.
Available as a set of 3, this one is titled 'By the light of the moon'.
Oh, and by the way....today was the perfect spring day - nothing but blue sky and sunshine! Thought I better get these winter birds posted before it is too warm to look at such wintery skies!

The Winter Birds - new work
And so a new series of birds has begun. This set above is called 'The Winter Birds', and is available on Etsy as a set of 4 5x5" photos. It feels fitting to post about it today, as even though yesterday was spring, today we are back to cold grey rain.

goodbye winter...hello spring...
Good bye cold, grey, wet winter......you, I am sorry to say,
I won't miss ...
...and you, sweet spring, I will savour.
I have looked forward to this day for a very long time.
Thank you for bringing such lovely colour into my day.
You make me smile.
